A three-month-old baby suffocated after a plastic nappy sack blew onto her face while she was sleeping a coroner’s court has heard.
At Oxford Coroner’s Court today (Thursday) assistant coroner Miss Alison Thompson recorded a verdict of acccidental death for Ruby Jade Williams who lived on North Street Banbury with her mother Dawn Williams and brother at the time of her death on February 15.
The court heard how Ms Williams found her baby daugher cold and unresponsive when she woke around 8.45am on a sofa bed next to the child’s moses basket.
The window in the room the pair shared did not close properly and the court heard a draft from the open window blew the nappy sack over the baby’s face in what Miss Thompson described as a “tragic accident.”
