A man brandishing a crowbar entered a property in Banbury in an attempted burglary on Saturday night.

At about 10.25pm, the homeowner was disturbed by a noise he believed to be outside his property on The Fairway. On approaching his front door, an offender has pushed him aside while holding a crowbar in the other hand. He was on his phone and searched the entire property, appearing to look for someone.

He is described as mixed race, around 5ft 11ins and of muscular build. He is about 27 to 28-years-old and had dark black hair, a small moustache and goatee beard, and wore a short sleeved mauve t-shirt, dark blue jeans and trainers.

Anyone with information or who saw any suspicious behaviour should call PC Carrie Cook of Banbury Police Station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
