A couple from Clifton have expressed their anger after a sewage plant burst and spread excrement over their four-acre field.
The Thames Water plant exceeded its capacity after this week’s heavy rainfall and spread on to land at Manor Barn in Chapel Close, the home of Myrtle and Leslie Young for 26 years.
Mrs Young, 75, said: “This problem has been going on for a long time as more properties have been built in the village. We have had engineers come out and look at it without doing anything, every time it rains I wonder if I will be able to flush the toilet. It has been hell for us both.
