Jailed for assault by beating

These were among the cases heard at Banbury Magistrates’ Court from July 11-17.

Jacob Hedley, 39, of Newcombe Close, Milcombe, was found guilty of assault by beating and committing a further offence whilst being subject to a suspended sentence. He was given a two-week prison sentence and the suspended sentence was activated with an additional ten-week prison sentence. He was also given a restraining order.

Ricky Harries, 42, of Causeway, Bicester, admitted assault by beating. He was given an 18-week prison sentence and a restraining order.

Matthew Martin, 42, of Chamomile Place, Banbury, admitted stealing six DVDs worth £40.45 from BHS. He was fined £35, ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £25 costs.

Tristan Wood, 40, of Eversley Close, Chadlington, admitted two counts of causing harassment by sending 
offensive texts and making offensive threatening phone calls. He was given a 
restraining order for 12 months, was ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Jake Holdsworth, 25, of Market Square, Bicester, admitted causing harassment. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, was ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Deirdre Stindt, 52, of Hawke Lane, Bloxham, admitted speeding. She was fined £300, ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Her driving licence was endorsed with six points.

Thomas Thatcher, 20, of Bradshaw Close, Steeple Aston, admitted being drunk and disorderly in High Street, Banbury. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, was ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Derek Tamblin, 38, of Manor Road, Banbury, admitted speeding. He was fined £100, ordered to pay £20 victim 
surcharge and £85 costs and his licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

Derek Cordingley, 60, of East Street, Fritwell, admitted stalking. He was given a 28-day prison sentence suspended for 12 months, was ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge and £650 costs and was given a restraining order.

Darren Evans, 37, of Hamilton Close, Bicester, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £40 costs.

Alex Marshall, 18, of Westcote Close, Witney, admitted possessing cannabis. He was given a community order and ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £40 costs.
