People walking past The Hive, in Banbury on Tuesday got a lovely surprise for Valentine’s Day.

Artist Lucy Tustian, a regular at the community hub, knitted 150 hearts and attached inspiring messages to them to give to passers-by as part of The Social Heart Project.

The project is the idea of Meredith Crawford, known as 
@onesocialgirl on Twitter, to spread a little kindness.

Pictured is Luke Cheetham, of The Hive, with Lucy. Luke said: “We gave them out for free outside The Hive on Church Lane. It was heartwarming to see people’s reaction to it. You could feel the community spirit growing with every heart we gave away.”
