Parents in Banbury are being invited to spend their first day of the summer holidays at a special Play Day in People’s Park.
The free event is supported by Cherwell District Council and is from 11am-3pm on Wednesday, July 23. There will be a host of activities including sport, reading and arts and crafts.
There will also be the opportunity for children to take part in musical and dance performances, try their hand at circus skills and enjoy outdoor adventure play.
Councillor George Reynolds, deputy leader of Cherwell District Council, said: “For this year’s Banbury Play Day we are combining a Sporting Nations Theme with a Love of Reading to create a diverse day of entertainment for all.
“The sporting theme will celebrate the Commonwealth Games and offer children the chance to take part in various activities within our Sports Zone or, if they would prefer, they can sit back and relax while listening to some storytelling to help them cement a love of reading.”
Joining in the day’s entertainment will be the Radio Horton roadshow and numerous stalls showcasing local youth and play providers.
Families are being encouraged to bring a picnic to make the most of the day’s entertainment.
