To celebrate the world famous children’s authors 100th birthday Fathinghoe Village Hall will transformed into a make-believe wonderland.

On September 13 the Welsh born writer would have been receiving a telegram from the Queen so to celebrate the life of one of Britain’s most influential writers parties will be held across the world.

Famous for such classics as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Twits and The BFG, Roald Dahl has sold over 250 million books and remains a must read author for children.

Standing 6 feet 6 inches tall Roald Dahl was himself a big friendly giant of a man but despite his imposing physicality managed to write using memories of his inner child.

Farthinghoe Village Hall will decorated in magical honour of his voluminous works and children and adults alike will dress as characters from his books.

There will also be stalls, games, crafts and storytelling. Refreshments will be in the form of frobscottle and snozzcumbers.

Doors will open at 3.45pm Tuesday, September 13 and the event will run until 6pm.
