Warriner School see A Level results reach new highs

Last years inaugural A Level results have been bettered by this years crop of A Level students.

Students, Parents and staff were celebrating another excellent set of results from The Warriner Sixth Form, which improved on the results from last year and saw another one of its students heading to Oxbridge.

Will Thompson achieved grades A*, A* and A thus securing his place at Cambridge to read Political Sciences.

Other high achievers include Joe Dunlop who secured three A* grades and will start a degree in Theoretical Physics at Bristol in September.

Joe said: “The teaching, staff and general atmosphere of cohesion and hard work have made my time at The Warriner some of the best of my life.”

He added: “I am leaving with grades I never dared hope for and a strong feeling of preparedness for university.”

Abi Ridgway who is celebrating her A* and two B grades said: “I can confidently say that without the level of support from my teachers, my results would have looked very different.”

Overall 45 percent of all grades were at grades B or higher with all students achieving a minimum of 2 A levels.

Headteacher Annabel Kay said: “Once again I am delighted with the performance of our students. I am so proud of the contribution they have made to our school, and the hard work they have put in to their academic studies has paid off.

“I must thank the sixth form staff who have given so freely of their time and expertise to support our students”
