Bishop Loveday Primary School in Bodicote celebrated its 50th birthday in style with an evening extravaganza.

The event, which started at 5pm on Friday, June 16, was officially declared open by Banbury Town Mayor Colin Clarke and quickly got into celebratory mood with a whole school dance.

Children entertained the crowd of parents, friends and former pupils with a performance by the school choir and the Year 4 djembe drummers.

Inside, an exhibition had been set up displaying the school’s evolution from its original setting next door to St John’s Baptist Church to the opening of its current location in 1967.
