Fiori Musicali – the region’s premier professional early music ensemble – are presenting a programme of Vivaldi and Handel in the splendid Georgian Church of St Michael, Aynho tonight (Friday).
Fiori are one of the UK’s principal providers of classical and early music concerts outside London and they are back in Aynho by popular request.
Their performance at the church two years ago featured celebrated soprano Emma Kirkby and was a sell-out.
This time the group have with them one of their favourite performers, soprano Judit Felszeghy, who performs in full baroque costume.
Judit has appeared in festivals across Europe and she has also sung with Fiori Musicali in some of the country’s finest stately homes, including Boughton House and Althorp.
Classical music fans can now hear her live at Aynho singing well-known music by Handel.
Fiori founder Dr Penelope Rapson, said: “We are looking forward to this concert enormously. It’s great to be able to showcase some really outstanding performers and to have the opportunity to visit this beautiful Georgian church, which has terrific acoustics.”
She added: “The music we’ll be performing is perfect for such a fine venue.”
Also in Fiori’s team will be charismatic baroque violinist Kerstin Linder-Dewan playing music by Vivaldi and Corelli. Tickets at £20 and £15 are available from Fiori Musicali box office on 01327 360931.
