Adderbury Village Morris Men (AVMM) are looking for donations of new or used top hats after a successful recruitment drive.
The open day taster session held in February attracted both young and old dancers alike, keen to try the ancient tradition.
AVMM have, however, become a victim of their own success and are now running short of large size top hats, so are looking for donations.
Whether they be old or new, pristine or a little worn, AVMM will put your old top hat to good use and will personally welcome any top hat donors if they would like to attend the Adderbury Day of Dance event.
The group meets for practice sessions between February and April and require no membership fees, with supply of equipment and costumes free of charge.
Links to the village go back to the 1880s with the current active group of morris men having formed in 1975.
They typically perform at between 10 and 15 events during the summer months, most notably Adderbury’s Day of Dance.
If you have a top hat you would like to donate to the group contact John on 01869 811741 or visit AVMM’s website.
