Taxi driver assaulted and robbed in Banbury

Three men have been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed in Banbury last night (Friday).

At about 10pm the driver attended an address in Mascord Close to pick up a fare in a silver Vauxhall Vectra. On arriving at the location, he was approached by three men and punched in the face, threatened with an unknown weapon and forced to hand over his cash and mobile phone.

The offenders ran away from the scene towards Mascord Road. They are white, aged in their late teens, wearing dark clothing with hooded tops.

The victim suffered minor injuries and received treatment at hospital.

A 17-year-old man, 18-year-old man and 19-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
