Police are appealing for witnesses following a fight in a Banbury town centre pub.

At around 12.40am yesterday, the early morning of June 25, a fight occurred in the Banbury Cross pub on Butchers Row.

A 25 year-old man sustained a cut to his face, believed to have been caused by a glass. He is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

The attackers are described as two white males. One of them was 6ft tall, wearing a white top and shorts and the other male was described as wearing a black top.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Anneliese Palfrey from Bicester Force CID, said: “This was a nasty assault which has left a man with a serious facial injury.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward, in order to assist with the investigation.

Police report a 23 year-old man from Banbury and a 25 year-old man from Bicester have been arrested on suspicion of wound/inflict grievous bodily harm without intent.

They have been released under investigation.
