Father-of-three Chris Tait is an enthusiastic veteran of German bierfests '“ so much so he even drove his wife and three sons to Munich in a motorhome so they could experience his passion for themselves.

Now he’s decided to organise his own at Banbury Rugby Club on Saturday, June 4.

Chris, 59, of Poets Corner said: “I’ve ordered 100 glass steins for the night, there will be Bavarian-dressed waitresses and entertainment will be provided by the very funny and highly talented four-piece Oompah Band.

“The beer will be Hofbrauhaus HB Weiss Bier, 5.8 percent, and also a clearer Pilsner lager that will be named as soon as the order is placed.

“There will be delicious high quality foods, sourced from South Germany, including bratwurst, schwein schnitzels, applestrudel and Black Forest gateaux.”
