After 18 years at the Humberside Police force, Alfie Moore hung up his helmet and became a full time comedian, storming the Edinburgh Festival with hit shows in 2012 and 2013.

On June 28 he will be appearing at Banbury’s Mill Arts Centre.

Having since supported comedy heavyweights Sarah Millican, Milton Jones and Russell Kane on tour, and having toured his own successful show in 2012, Alfie is embarking on a new UK tour from May.

Sergeant turned stand-up Alfie Moore has seen it all.

A truly front-line view of the police force will not only alter your perspective on the ‘boys in blue’, but is guaranteed to have you chuckling. Revealing everything from the mundane to the macabre, Alfie recounts the continually bizarre but always humorous experiences of a modern copper; be it the time he encountered a severed head, but by law was not allowed to pronounce it dead, or the nonsensical realities of working in a squad tied up and hen pecked by bureaucracy, ‘

With an insuppressible nature for storytelling and an everyman likeability, Alfie is the bobby on the beat you never had.

The show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £14 and are available by calling the Mill’s box office on 01295 279002, or by visiting
