Businesses are being urged to nominate their best workers for this year’s Banbury Employee of the Year competition.

Recruitment agency Plus One Personnel has launched the awards for the fourth year running and has set Friday, December 20 as its deadline for firms to send in nominations.

The final awards ceremony will be held at Broughton Castle on January 31.

Claire Kingsbury, co-director of Plus One Personnel, said: “We are really thrilled to be having the finals in a beautiful venue which emphasises the awards and gives it a great Banbury setting.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people to be recognised publicly for their great work and to show off what people have done.

“We have had some really fantastic responses and it is great to see so many people of different qualities and varieties. There is still time for people to enter and we are looking forward to receiving more entries. You’ve got to be in it to win it!”

The Banbury Employee of the Year Awards gives employers the opportunity to recognise and reward those individuals and teams within their company who have excelled over the past year.

All short-listed finalists will be invited to the ceremony at Broughton Castle and a winner for each of the three categories will be announced on the day .

They will be presented with a trophy and certificate by Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry.

The awards are free to enter and open to all businesses within a ten-mile radius of Banbury.

The three categories are Employee of the Year, Team of the Year and Employer of the Year.

Mrs Kingsbury, who runs Plus One Personnel with her husband, Stuart Moore, said: “This is my favourite part of the competition.

“I love the judging part and seeing all the different entries and being able to give an award to a great employee.

“When you see the look on the winner’s face when they win it is fantastic.

“The awards are aimed at giving something positive to the town and celebrating the fact we have some great people who work for great companies in the area.”
