One of Banbury’s oldest independent building and plumbing merchants has opened a prestigious new showroom to display a new range of products designed to make homes more energy efficient.

John Nicholls (Trading) Ltd Building and Plumbing merchants has built a 50-year reputation in Banbury.

The firm opened its Green Solutions Showroom on February 1 at its plumbing branch in Dorcas Road.

The new product range includes innovative energy-saving devices such as Air Source and Ground Source Heat Pumps, Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Panels, Biomass Boilers and rainwater harvesting equipment.

It is hoped residents will be able to install some of these products by securing funding through the Government’s evolving Green Deal scheme.

John Nicholls sales manager Kris Winters explained: “As the cost of living continues to rise, renewable technologies and sustainability have entered the forefront of our thinking and future plans.

“We recognise the changes that are happening within the building and plumbing industries and want to ensure that our customers have access to the most important and innovative technologies on the market, all available from our network of eight building and plumbing & heating branches.

He added: “We see our Green Solutions Showroom as a regional showcase for renewable building products.

“With so many new and exciting ‘Green’ products, and the introduction of the Green Deal – the Government’s flagship policy for improving the energy efficiency of buildings in the UK – our Green Solutions Showroom will provide our customers with a greater understanding of the technologies that are available.”
