The great and the good from across north Oxfordshire came together to celebrate at the third annual Cherwell Business Awards.

About 250 guests representing businesses and charitable organisations gathered at Dovecote Farm in Adderbury on Friday, May 16, to recognise outstanding efforts of companies and individuals across the district and to share best practice.

Awards were handed out across nine different categories including charity and community and customer care and innovation, before a tenth award was presented for the overall Business of the Year.

The awards were organised by Cherwell District Council, Ellacotts LLP, Begbroke Science Park, Banbury and District Chamber of Commerce, Bicester Vision, Spratt Endicott Solicitors, NatWest and Bicester and District Chamber of Commerce.

ACE Training and Consultancy Limited, a not-for-profit learning provider delivering training in brickwork and site carpentry, picked up the Cherwell District Council Charity and Community Award as well as the Norbar Torque Tools Cherwell Business of the Year Award.

Managing director Adam Marsh said: “These awards are recognition of the tireless work of the team at ACE, of the commitment of the employers and partner organisations we work with and of the attitude and determination of our students.

“To have even been nominated as a finalist in our category was a pleasing achievement as we have never gone in for the awards before, so to win the Charity and Community Award was a fantastic feeling and to be given the overall award ahead of some truly exceptional businesses in Cherwell is simply incredible. We feel extremely proud to have been honoured in this way.”
