Band release single in same week as live gig at town pub
A band will perform a live gig at a popular venue in Banbury just days after the release of their latest single.
On Saturday, The Scholars will perform at AKA in Parsons Street, Banbury at 10pm.
The three-piece band will give their performance just four days after the release of their latest single, Love The Thunder.
The electro/ rock group, who are from the town, are made up of Chris Gillett on guitar, Leigh Taylor on drums and Adrian Banks who is the group’s lead singer and bass guitarist.
The group released their debut single Turbulence in 2009 which led to an interview with Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music and national airplay on the BBC Introducing programme.
In 2010 the group were involved in the independent feature film, Turbulence, a musical comedy centred around a venue in Birmingham. The Scholars played a major role in the film as well as contributing towards the soundtrack.
The band’s second and third singles came last year, titled This Heart’s Built to Break and Wired.
