Banbury firefighters help contain blaze at Enstone plastics factory

A fire broke out at a plastics factory in Enstone yesterday evening (Sunday) at 8.20pm.

Firefighters from Banbury joined three further crews at Oxford Plastics in Enstone where they used eight sets of breathing apparatus to enter the facility and put out the blaze which started in a nine tonne silo.

Four fire appliances attended and the blaze was contained within two hours.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue service also attended a chimney fire at a property in Charlton shortly after 4pm and used chimney equipment and a thermal imaging camera to contain the blaze. Crews also attended a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A43 in Brackley at 8pm. One casualty was cut free from a vehicle and taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
