Attempted robbery in Middleton Cheney

A 39-year-old woman was the victim of an attempted robbery in Middleton Cheney.

Police have released details of the incident today (Monday) after it happened in Stanwell Drive on April 17.

The woman was getting into her car at about 8.15am when she was approached by a man who got out of his white transit van and asked her for directions.

Before she could answer he pushed passed her, leaned into her car and tried to grab something, saying her handbrake was off and he was trying to help her.

He then leaned in again and tried to grab something, probably her handbag. The woman pulled him out and was able to jump in her car and drive off.

The offender is described as white, in his 20s, 6ft and of a slim build. He was wearing dark clothing. There was another man with him who is described as black, 6t and also of a slim build.
