Adderbury biker and budding photographer Thijis Bos has made it through to the 100 finalists in the annual Carole Nash MCN Moto Foto competition.
The 27-year-old automotive engineer who lives in Manor Road but hails from the Netherlands took the selfie at Gara Medouar in Morocco.
He recalled: “I was quite warm and out-of-breath when it was taken.
“This was on a month-long solo trip around the country, from the Rift in the north to the Anti-Atlas in the middle and the deserts of M’Hamid and Merzouga in the south.” He added: “I’ve always wanted to ride a motorbike through the desert and it was an absolute culture shock, but in a good way.
“And visiting a Muslim country has also been on my bucket list. I was invited to stay in people’s homes and asked to join them for meals – it was a very positive experience.
“Now I’m really pleased to be a finalist and would be over the moon if I won.”
Thijis is in the running for the top prize of a Tom Tom Rider 410 Premium (plus Bandit) worth £800.
Second prize is a 410 EU worth £319.99 and third is a 40 WE worth £279.99.
But he now needs YOUR help to support his entry. You can vote on the Carole Nash insidebikes Facebook page.
Spokeswoman Rebecca Donohue said: “We’ve received so many fantastic entries it’s been a tough enough job choosing our final 100, let alone pick a winner.
“It’s amazing to see so many bikers taking stunning photographs while out and about with their bikes.
“We’d like to wish Thijis luck and hope locals from Adderbury get behind him to help him win.”
