A SPATE of car thefts in Brackley has prompted police to issue an appeal.
Three car key burglaries have occurred in the last week alone and police are asking people to be vigilant.

In each incident the offenders stole the keys by poking some sort of implement through the letterbox and subsequently taking cars from the driveways. Even the police themselves have fallen victim.

Sergeant Tim Pearson said: "There have been a few car key burglaries in the town over the past week so we would like to urge residents to be vigilant.

"We are doing everything we can to track down the offenders are our inquiries are continuing.

"People need to be careful not to leave keys in obvious places - such as on a hook near the front door.

"Do not leave them on tables near the front door either."

If anyone has any information in connection with these incidents please contact Northamptonshire Police on 08453 700700.
