SPEED demons were targeted during a police operation in Wroxton.
Officers stopped 17 cars between 8am and 10am today (July 16).

Ten motorists received roadside education and the remaining seven, who were driving at higher speeds, were given a £60 fine and three points on their licence.

The check was conducted after speeding was identified as a priority by the Neighbourhood Action Group.

PC Mark Pilling, who led the operation, said: "We have operated a number of speed checks at this location in the last year, and have seen the number of drivers exceeding the limit decline, which is encouraging.

"However, we will continue to promote safer driving through education and enforcement and motorists can expect to see further speed checks at this site in the future."
