FIREFIGHTERS were faced with un-ewe-usual predicament yesterday (Tuesday) when two sheep needed rescuing.
The pair had become marooned in a swamp in the grounds of Bitham Hall, near Avon Dassett, at about 6.45pm.

Crews called on specialist equipment to help haul them clear, with a boat crew from Rugby among those attending the incident.

They eventually reached the woolly wanderers using ladders and pulled them clear with ropes and water rescue appliances.

Both sheep were unharmed.
