TWO youth organisations in Banburyshire are among those to benefit from a cash donation from police.
Banbury Young Homeless Project (BYHP) and the Chipping Norton School Trust Fund (CNSTF) will each receive a £1,000 cheque from the Thames Valley Police Authority (TVPA).
Each year, the force auctions off unclaimed recovered property and distribute
s the money to good causes. To mark its 40th anniversary, TVPA is giving the cash donations to 40 youth organisations.
BYHP, which supports homeless and vulnerable youngsters, and CNSTF, will be given the cash during a presentation at Thames Valley Police's headquarters in Kidlington on Friday (October 24).
TVPA chairman Khan Juna, said: "We thought it would be appropriate to use the money to mark the Force's anniversary in some way and we are very keen to support organisations which help young people.
"Officers nominated a range of organisations from youth clubs and scout groups through to drugs prevention and education projects and a youth mentoring scheme.
"All make a vital contribution towards supporting young people either by providing them with activities, education and training, or helping them in times of need."
