Middle Aston fire
A FIRE in Middle Aston destroyed 24 one-tonne hay bales in a field blaze this morning (Thursday).
At around 11.20am - the hay which was being carried by a hay baler - caught alight causing misery for motorists.
Six acres of stubble and 100m of hedgerow were also destroyed in the incident at Warren Farm off the A4260.
Four appliances attended the incident for nearly three hours.
Police closed the southbound road of the A4260 between North Aston Road and the B4030 for about an hour from midday because the smoke was making it hard for drivers to have clear vision.
