A BANBURY man possessed thousands of indecent images of children, a court heard.
Timothy Lovegrove, 53 of Market Place pleaded guilty at Oxford Crown Court today (Thursday) to ten charges of making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children, many of which were classed as grade four and five - the most serious.

He was alleged in one of the charges to have been in possession of 27,410 indecent photgraphs, although he disputed the number.

Lovegrove also entered a not guilty plea to a further charge of causing a child to be involved in pornography, which will lie on file.

Sentencing for the other charges will be on September 5 but Lovegrove was today (Thursday) ordered to sign the Sex Offenders' Register.
