THE latest exhibition to grace Banbury Museum opened on Saturday.
Called 'Holograms, first 60 years', it is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the first hologram and is the first major show of holograms in the UK for over twenty years.
The exhibition has been mainly drawn from art collector Jonathan Ross'
collection of holographic art along with work from other hologram makers.
Visitors will be intrigued by examples of the latest full colour and animated holograms. There are examples of how holograms have been used in credit cards, cosmetics, CDs, mobile phones, clothes, books comic , toys and games. .
Councillor George Reynolds, Cherwell District Council Portfolio Holder for Community, Recreation and Health said: "Once again Banbury Museum is breaking new ground.
"A magnificent display of holograms will be on display for the next two months.
"This show is of national importance and proves once again that the Museum and its staff can arrange first class displays that have a 'must visit' factor for all ages."
Visitors will be able to find out how holograms are made using lasers, as well as having the opportunity to book a place on a 'Make a Hologram' workshop on April 12.
Admission in free. It is open every day (except Easter Sunday) 9.30am to 5pm on Monday to Saturday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
