TWO people were rescued by firefighters after a house fire.
Fire crews from Banbury were called to the property in Marlborough Place at about 1am this morning (Friday) after smoke alarms were set off.

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Firefighter Grahame Mitchell said: "Had the property been without smoke detectors, the outcome could have ended in tragedy.

"I would like to remind everyone to remember to check their fire alarms work weekly and replace the batteries every year."

If you would like advice on any aspect of home fire safety or would like to arrange for a safety visit please ring the fire service helpline on 08000 325999.
