BANBURY'S eighth annual beer festival gets under way in perfect conditions today.
From 5pm this evening the Territorial Army centre in Oxford Road, Banbury, will host the three-day event which last year saw 1,300 people happily consume more than 4,000 pints of beer, cider and perry - pear cider.

This year's festival boasts 80 different beers and is running with a North West theme to celebrate Liverpool's year as the European Capital of Culture.

The hours of the festival, organised by the North Oxfordshire branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), are:

Thursday, May 8 - 5pm-11pm
Friday, May 9 - 12pm-12am
Saturday, May 10 - 11am-11pm
