THE Secretary of State for Education has faced questions from a Banbury School pupil.
Year eight student Josh Kerby, 13, conducted a telephone interview with Labour's Ed Balls on Thursday.

The interview, which covers subjects including quality marks, trust schools and Mr Balls's visit to Banbury School last summer, was part of a project to get youngsters interested in media work.

It will be played at Banbury School's awards evening tonight, Tuesday.

Banbury School's humanities manager Wendy Smith helped organise the interview and said it had been "confidence building".

"Josh did a fabulous job; he was so mature," she said. "To have the courage to do this and hold a phone conversation with someone like that.

"It is quite amazing that he could hold his own against the head of state."

In March, Banbury School took part in News Day, where news reports published on school websites can be accessed via links from the BBC's website.
