Householders are being urged to be extra vigilant over Easter.
Warwickshire police say large numbers of people visiting the county could make it easier for burglars to operate without arousing suspicion.

Residents are advised to keep a look out for any strangers in their neighbourhood and report suspicious activity to the police.

Uninvited callers should be asked for identification.

Force crime reduction manager DS Martyn Stephens said: "Easter is the start of the holiday season and although it is early this year we are expecting many visitors, especially in such places as Stratford and Warwick, a small proportion of whom may be up to no good.

"It is important that householders are on their guard for their own protection and also for the safety and security of their elderly or vulnerable neighbours.

"Report suspicious people or vehicles to the police but if you suspect a crime is in progress call 999 immediately."
