RESIDENTS of a Banburyshire nursing home will be treated to a host of unlikely activites next month in a bid to win much needed cash.
Glebefields nursing home in Drayton has signed up to the Breath of Fresh Air competition run by the National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People (NAPA).

The competition sees nursing homes across the country compete for £3,000 prize money by laying on as many diverse activities for their residents as they can in the space of a week.

Glebefields manager Joyce Furey is optimistic for the home's chances.
"I definitely think we can win it," she said.

"It will give us the chance to buy activity equipment for our residents if we get the money and everyone here is quite excited about it."

The week-long bonanza, beginning on June 16, will see a farmer bring a litter of piglets to visit the home, a talk - and drink - from Hook Norton Brewery, a day in the company of Wroxton Primary School children, a job swap between staff and many others still in the planning including a possible Broughton Castle picnic.
