BLUE Coupe, the reunion of the ‘angry orphans’ of Blue Öyster Cult and the Alice Cooper group, play their first gig at Banbury’s Mill Theatre on Thursday, January 31.

The multi-talented entertainers include Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dennis Dunaway, bassist of the legendary Alice Cooper group, with multi-instrumentalist Joe Bouchard and his brother, drum meister Albert Bouchard, founders of Blue Öyster Cult.

Dunaway said: “Joe, Albert and I are very excited about playing in Britain again. A decade has passed since the last time.

“We will be playing the classic hits as well as originals from our new CD Tornado on the Tracks and some sneak previews of our upcoming CD, which is now being mixed by Jack Douglas who worked with John Lennon, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Blue Öyster Cult and the original Alice Cooper group.

“The British Invasion was a major influence on our music and that will fuel our shows, as well as the chance to meet our fans.”

These revolutionary originals were the heartbeat of some of the best known songs in rock history.

With Alice Cooper group Dunaway co-wrote several smash hits including I’m 18, School’s Out and Under My Wheels.

Blue Öyster Cult is best known for such hard-rock songs as Don’t Fear The Reaper, Burnin’ For You and Godzilla which helped the band sell over 24 million albums worldwide.

Albert and Joe Bouchard were co-writers of many of those biggest hits including Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll, Hot Rails to Hell and Astronomy.

The three have sold over 15 million albums and received over 30 gold and platinum discs. In 1962, Dennis met Vince Furnier (aka Alice Cooper) and the two reached the top as Alice Cooper in the early 70s, inventing shows that set new standards and spearheaded the ‘glam’ movement. Blue Coupe will take to the stage at 8.30pm and tickets are priced at £15.
