IT IS nice to see that £3 million is being spent on a new youth centre in Hilton Road, Banbury (Banbury Guardian, June 18).
This letter is written from the heart; how I feel and how many people would feel that had anything to do with Banbury Youth Centre from 1974 to 1994, or even earlier or later.

This was a haven for everybody, where the late, great Ralph Smith would give you that second chance. I myself spent a lot of time with Ralph camping etc, as did many other children.

This man kept a lot of children on the straight and narrow.
I am sure to say that we are all proud and that the new centre should be called The Ralph Smith Centre, as endorsed by his surviving
sons David, Nigel and Adam Smith.

Let's see this endorsed by all those that attended the youth club.
For those that think this is important to the community and to Ralph's memory, please contact me on 07976 279939.
