In response to the letter from John Roberts of Great Bourton (Your View, June 4) regarding the use of the term Banburyshire, I would like to register my vote that you keep using it.
We live in Aston-le-Walls, just over the border in Northamptonshire.
Banbury is our nearest large town, being only seven miles away, whilst we are ten miles from Daventry, our nearest Northants town.
I was bought up in Bloxham as a child and m
y dad worked in an office in Horse Fair during the 70s, therefore I am very fond of Banbury and its surrounds – two of my children were born at the Horton!
Yes, I know that Banbury is in Oxfordshire and we're not but many folk I know treat Banbury as their local town, shopping, working and socialising there, including those also in south Warwickshire.
I love the fact that the term 'Banburyshire' is still in use – please don't stop using it; it makes me feel as if I still belong to Banbury even though I'm not in Oxfordshire any more!! Banbury still influences us in these 'far-flung outposts' just as much as it did 150 years ago.
Long live Banburyshire!

Aston-le-WallsAS A true Banburian, I have in the past voiced my dislike of the 'Banburyshire' tag, it is not acceptable to real Banbury families.
It was evidently seen on a very, very old map or paper, in my opinion an original misprint.
Why the radio station has it I can't understand as it doesn't sound right or nice.
Please let's lose this horrid additive, we are Banbury and very proud as well.
