The music from the Quiet Man Band was excellent with Steve Duffy playing a number of instruments.
I AM sure that I am not the only one who enjoyed an evening of Celtic music and dance at Bloxham School Hall on May 23 and 24.
Thanks to the husband and wife team Steve and Mandy Duffy we were provided with first-class entertainment from The Acus
hla Dancers – girls and boys from Mandy's school of dancing who gave us a wide and varied selection of Scottish dancing from the traditional to modern, all choreographed by Mandy herself.
They were joined on the two evenings by members from the local Doyle Academy of Irish Dancers of all ages, whose footwork had reached perfection and would have done well to dance alongside Michael Flattely on the London stage.
The dancers were a delight to watch and the costumes and hairstyles were to be admired. It was a pleasure to see how professional they all looked on the night with their smiles and confidence.
Not only that but he also took on his role as Pipe Major of the Scots Guards Pipe Band which added to the enjoyment of the evening.
It was obvious that no end of hard work had been put into presenting the show and to top it all £530 was raised from the raffle and also £307 for Help for Heroes – one of the young soldiers represented being Mandy and Steve's son Robert.
Yes, Banbury's got plenty of talent.
