Thank you one and all. As leader of Banbury Town Council I would like to express my gratitude to the public of Banburyshire and those visitors who travelled into Banbury for what can only be described as the event of the year to date.
I personally attended the show during the day and was amazed at the thousands in attendance and could see why with the amount or entertainment on offer, especially the wonderful arena.
This was an event for the community and they truly did the
town proud, how we top this event next year will certainly be a hard task indeed.
I would also like to take this opportunity in thanking the many people behind the scenes who brought this event to fruition.
The Banbury & District Show Committee, the service clubs of Banbury consisting of Rotary Banbury, Rotary Cherwell and the Banbury Cross Round Table. Special thanks must go to the staff at Banbury Town Council for once again pulling out all the stops to bring Banbury another wonderful community event.
Cllr Kieron Mallon
Leader of Banbury Town Council Thank you 5,000 times over
If only we could thank each and every one of you!
The Banbury & District Show Committee stood in amazement at this inaugural event.
Never did we imagine the amount of support from Banbury and its surrounding villages, and beyond.
This event has been along time coming and we cannot express enough our sincere thanks to the 5,000 plus people who passed through the gate.
We certainly aim to continue this success in 2010 which will again do the town proud. Thank you to everyone who supported us with their attendance. See you again next year.
The Banbury & District Show Committee My family and I decided to spend Sunday at the Banbury Show at Spiceball Park.
The weather was lovely and there was lots to do to keep us occupied.
The one thing we were really looking forward to was entering the dog show, we paid to enter and we were told it was a 2pm start.
We wandered around the attractions when suddenly the Sealed Knot display started and it sounded like canons were being fired.
My dog, along with many others, was absolutely petrified. It is a well known fact that many dogs don't like loud noises.
I think it was terrible that a dog show was run side-by-side with this sort of display.
Unfortunately my dog didn't get over his experience and we had to leave before the dog show even began. A very disappointing day.
