Fantastic news! The Horton is saved !! It just goes to show that people in this country do still have a voice when it matters.

This is your chance to say thank you to all those who have battled, argued, campaigned and given up hour-after-hour of their unpaid time to make sure that all services at your hospital are still there for you.

There are too many names to mention here today, but we will pay tribute to them all in next week's Banbury Guardian.

However, you can say thank you now - please do so.

Well done to all involved with the Keep the Horton General campaign. I was thrilled to bits when I heard the news on Radio Oxford this morning. Two of my three children were born at the Horton in 2003 and 2005. The care from the staff there was fantastic - as I had to have 2 emergency ceasareans I dread to think of the state I'd have been in if I'd have had to go to the JR!

I am so pleased with today's outcome, words cannot express how happy I feel.

Today has been a tremendous day for us all and will go down in history.

I am so pleased that the IRP and Alan Johnson have listed to us - the community - the people that really matter!

Special congratulations must go to George Parish without him I feel that none of this would have been possible.

This is great news for the Horton, the people of Banbury and surrounding areas.

The save the Horton campaign group have done a great job. Cllr George Parish in particular has stood firm, worked tirelessly to help bring about this result.

George you deserve a medal.

Great News!! I had my son at the Horton in September 2007 under consultant led care, the staff work very wonderful! Banbury is rapidly growing, it would have been a disaster to close such vital services. Well done Horton!!

I am so pleased at the result. I had a caesarian at the Horton with my first child and now I feel happier that all the services will still be in place when I give birth again in May! Well done to George Parish and all the fighters of this campaign!

I am delighted for the people of Banbury that all the hard work which so many people have given to this campaigne has been a monumental success.
The support for the Horton by the residents of Banburyshire was never clearer than the rally in Peoples Park and the Mayors March.
We now have to regroup for the next challenge as there will surely be one.
All those involved have done us proud, I offer my personal thanks as a resident of Banbury to you all.

I would like to congratulate George Parish and his team who have fought so hard and with such dignity to retain services at the Horton. I have followed this closely and would like to contrast the innate honesty, grit and imagination of the campaign with the disinterest of the Trust over the last few years. I hope further sense will prevail with George being properly recognised at the highest level for his immense contribution on behalf of us all. Thanks indeed.

What fantastic news. George Parish and everyone else involved must be over the moon and you all deserve a medal. The people of Banbury and surrounding area will never be able to thank you enough!
I couldn't wait to go on the Banbury Guardian website to find out the result and it has certainly brightened up a very dull, miserable Easter weekend!
