EXECUTIVE manager of the Horton Mike Fleming has heaped praise on the hospital's workers following the IRP verdict.
"The first thing is to acknowledge how wonderful the staff have been throughout all this uncertainty," he said.
"The staff do genuinely feel that they have been listened to, they are very much part of the local community so have been right behind the campaign.
"It's mixed emotion for me because there has got to be some form of change but the proposals were too far and unacceptable.
"We will now have to work with the PCT over the coming months to find a long-term solution."
