HORTON Hospital campaigner George Parish is recovering in the hospital he fought so hard to protect after being admitted with suspected pancreatitis on Monday.
Mr Parish, who was the leading campaigner in the fight to save acute services for Banbury, was forced to leave a Cherwell District Council reception to mark the service of a district councillor to go to Horton Hospital's Accident & Emergency after developing severe stomach pains.

Mr Parish, Labour councillor for the Ruscote Ward, was admitted to E-ward where he has since been undergoing tests.

Mr Parish is expected to be released from hospital by the end of the week, but you can send him a get well message by signing in or registering below.

For the full story on Mr Parish's admission to hospital, see this week's Banbury Guardian.

All the best on your recovery George, as an ex long term resident of Bretch Hill I always appreciated you taking the lead on the Horton plus the ton of work on local issues that you did. Even though I now call eastern Ontario home I still think of my original "hometown" and in particular the people like yourself, who made it such an original and independent place to live.
all the best Frank Taker

Hi George,

Was reading about you in the Guardian and thought I'd send you get well wishes from your long lost cousin in Texas. Long time , no contact but I do read about you and see your photo in the Guardian quite often - I go in and read it every week keeping in touch with home and see that you are active in many good works. I am proud of you.
Hope you and the family are well and that you have a speedy recovery.
Take care of yourself, Tell the other members of the family I said Hi.
