IT WAS another year of record-breaking GCSE exam results.
Blessed George Napier, Banbury School and The Warriner School were among those boasting their best-ever grades.

Among the high achievers at Banbury School was 16-year-olds Dipak Tandel who got four A*s, five As and two Cs.

Another pupil, Mark N
ewton, also from Banbury, achieved seven A* grades and five A grades.

Outside Banbury, it was four times the cellebratiom for the Prince family at The Warriner School in Bloxham.

Quadruplets Ben, Catrina, Daniel and Franziska achieved 42 A* and A grades between them.

Pupils at Chenderit School in Middleton Cheney also scored highly.
Out of 169 candidates taking exams, 58 per cent achieved five or more A* to C including Maths and English.

Acting headteacher Barry Doherty said: "These results represent our second best-ever headline achievements and come on the back of wonderful sixth form results last week."

At Shipston High School, 44 per cent of students achieved five or more passes at GCSE grades A* to C - 11 per cent higher than last year.

Headteacher Jonathan Baker said: "We are delighted for all our students who have worked hard to achieve to these superb results which also reflect the determination and commitment of their teachers."

Pupil Rachel Glover, 16, achieved one A*, eight As, one B, one C and said: "I am very happy with the results.

"I thought the science exams were quite stressful though."

Out of 165 candidates at Kineton High School, 47 per cent gained five or more A* to C grades including Maths and English.

Headteacher Julia Morris said: "These excellent results are a testimony to the commitment and hard work of students and staff, and the support given by parents."

Chipping Norton School's Josh Morton, 16, achieved one A*, seven A grades, three B grades and one C grade.

He said: "I'm pretty pleased - I was expecting something like that.
"I want to go into medicine and be a doctor."

Fellow student Josie Dorling, 16, received six A*, four As and three Bs.
She said: "I was expecting worse. I thought I was strong in coursework and not so confident in my exams."

Headteahcer Simon Duffy said: "We have focused on making sure students are aware of what they are capable of in each subject and what they have to do to achieve that grade.

"It is particularly pleasing to see boys doing so well at the top-level and once again the A* - C performance including English and Maths and Science is really strong."
