ONE reader could win a fabulous Yamaha piano featuring a commemorative plaque signed by Jools Holland in this week's Banbury Guardian.
The Banbury Guardian has teamed up with Yamaha Homeworld, based at One Man Band in Banbury, to offer this great prize.

On offer is a Yamaha YDP-131 personal piano worth £600 with a commemorative plaque signed by Jools who performs live in concert at Fairport's Cropredy Convention on Thursday.

The festival was founded by Fairport Convention, whose members are long-standing customers of One Man Band and used a photograph of the store's previous frontage as the cover of Fairport's legendary album Wood and Wire'

Now based at 8-9 White Lion Walk, One Man Band received a spectacular makeover from Yamaha last year and became the first Yamaha Homeworld in the south of England, boasting a purpose-built showroom specially developed to showcase some of the most desirable musical instruments ever designed and suitable for anyone from beginners to professionals.

David Cooper, owner of One Man Band, said: "We are delighted to be backing this competition. Thanks to Jools Holland, Jamie Cullum and bands like Coldplay and Keane, the piano is once again taking centre stage on the contemporary music scene and in the living room.

"Playing a musical instrument has seen phenomenal growth over recent years thanks to state of the art technology and innovative design.

"Yamaha instruments have led this trend and we believe that there's a hidden crop of musical talent in Banbury waiting to be discovered."

Our competition prize, the YDP-131, is a perfect blend of traditional piano style and Yamaha's advanced digital technology.

It has a graded hammer action keyboard, never needs tuning, can be connected to a computer and features two headphone sockets for private practice. The YDP-131 is available in either dark rosewood or cherry.

For further details and the compeition question see this week's Banbury Guardian, on sale Thursday.

Visitors to the Fairport Cropredy Festival that would like to enter the competition can buy a copy of the Banbury Guardian, priced 42p, from the Spar supermarket in Cropredy. You can enter the competition by text
