FAIRPORT'S Cropredy Convention had a successful first day culminating in a set from '90s indie popsters Supergrass.
Organisers of the event were pleased with the traffic arrangements and rain held off despite threatening to put a damper on the day.

Event spokesman Andy Farquarson of Iconic Media said: "We had a great day.

"The weather was really kind to us and this year we had virtually no traffic problems at all.

"We had a very mixed bill yesterday (Thursday) with quiet acoustic artists like John Tams and Barry Coope opening for Supergrass who were great - they're lovely guys, real crowd pleasers."

This year has attracted slightly fewer people than last year meaning tickets are still available, though on the gate, not from the box office.

Mr Farquarson advised that anyone keen to attend should check the Fairport website or call 07919 894308 for availability before setting off.
