TWO of popular music's greatest names will share the stage in Banbury on the evening of Wednesday, August 8.
The concert will take place at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury and is an opener for Fairport's Cropredy Convention, which starts the following day.

Legendary folk-jazz-rock fusion band Pentangle will headline the concert. Ashley Hutchings (who fou
nded Fairport Convention) will also play a set with his new band Rainbow Chasers.

As a bonus, there will be a solo opening spot from talented singer-songwriter Ella Edmondson, daughter of Jennifer Saunders and Ade Edmondson.

Pentangle, like Fairport Convention, was in at the birth of British folkrock.

The current line-up is led by original vocalist Jacqui McShee, although the group has been through many line-up changes since its inception in 1966.

The band's music has recently been celebrated in a highly-aclaimed four-CD box set.

Ashley Hutchings left Fairport Convention to form Steeleye Span and, later, the Albion Band.

Rainbow Chasers is his latest project and features Ashley backed by three very talented young musicians. The group performs its own original songs with an emphasis on vocal harmony.

This concert presents full sets from two folkrock icons and tickets are on sale now from The Mill box office on 01295 279002.
