Whiskey thief admits crime
THE following cases were among those heard at Banbury Magistrates’ Court between September 10 & 17:
n Stuart Gordon, 39, of Broughton Road, Banbury, admitted theft by employee for stealing a bottle of Jack Daniels and a bottle of Disaronno to the value of £28 from Bidvest Logistics. He was given a community order with a six-day Right with Money activity requirement, a 19-day Thinking skills requirement and ordered to comply with a supervision requirement.
n Carl Mountford, 28, of Mascord Road, Banbury, admitted keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road and was fined £150, ordered to pay £47.92 vehicle excise back duty and £90 costs.
n Keith Oberascher of Friars Hill, Wroxton, was found guilty of keeping an unlicensed vehicle on a public road and was fined £600, ordered to pay £71.67 vehicle excise back duty and £90 costs.
n William Carter, 19, of Pitmaston Close, Banbury admitted possessing a quantity of cannabis and was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
n Sarah Whitehead, 44, of Main Street, Hanwell, admitted drink driving and driving without a licence and was fined £110, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge, £25 costs and was banned from driving for 18 months reduced by 18 weeks on completion of an approved course.
n Jabaz Smith, 29, of Milton Road, Bloxham, admitted dishonestly receiving stolen goods, namely a red Honda quad bike of a value unknown belonging to Avon and Somerset Police and was given a community order with a requirement to complete 100 hours unpaid work and pay £150 costs.
n Graham Taylor, 56, of Milcombe, was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identity of a driver and was fined £525, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge, £85 costs and had his licence endorsed with six points.
n Darren Wyatt, 23, of Lord Fielding Close, Banbury, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was sentenced to three months in prison suspended for 12 months, ordered to comply with a 12-month supervision order and six-month curfew requirement ordering him to remain at home between 8pm and 6am on Saturdays. He was also ordered to complete 120 hours unpaid work, pay £250 compensation to the victim and £85 costs.
n Amy Robertson, 25, of Chandos Close, Banbury, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress and was fined £120, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £150 costs.
n Jessica Henry, 22, of Bluebell Close, Woodford Halse, admitted drink driving and was given a community order with a requirement to complete 100 hours unpaid work and was banned from driving for 24 months, reduced by six months on completion of an approved course.
n Daniel Hanwell, 19, of Middleton Road, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the community requirement of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend a supervision appointment. He had his suspended sentence activated and was jailed for 12 weeks.
n Leigh Halligan, 22, of Westhill Gardens, Brackley, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause someone to believe immediate unlawful violence would be used against them and failing to surrender to court custody. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge, fined £50, ordered to pay £50 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
n Christopher Bardon, 25, of Dover Avenue, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with a community requirement of a suspended sentence order by failing to attend unpaid work and was ordered to complete an additional 40 hours unpaid work.
n Ben Hornsby, 30, of Old London Road, Chipping Norton, admitted stealing two bottles of vodka to the value of £40 and a bottle of Champagne to the value of £30 from Marks and Spencer. He was given a community order with a six-month alcohol treatment requirement, ordered to comply with a supervision requirement and pay £70 compensation to the store. He was also ordered to pay £33.98 compensation to Marks and Spencer for one further offence taken into consideration.
