The following cases were among those heard at 
Banbury Magistrates’ Court from February 13-20.

Andrew Nesbitt, 34, of Parsley Place, Banbury, pleaded guilty to stealing one can of Stella Artois worth £1.38 from Ermont Way filling station and failing to surrender to custody at Banbury Magistrates’ Court. He was given a three-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £1.38 compensation, and fined £30.

Thomas Thatcher, 19, of Bradshaw Close, Steeple Aston, pleaded guilty to damaging a car and was found guilty of assault. He was given a community order witha curfew requirement and a supervision requirement and was ordered to pay £350 compensation, £350 costs.

Sean Stevens, 25, of Cleverley Road, Enstone, was found guilty of using threatening or abusive language with the intent to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was fined £110, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £500 costs.

Stephen Weaver, 42, of Bankside, Banbury, pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating and one count of common assault. He was given a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and a supervision requirement. He was also given a restraining order with the requirement not to attend 81 High Furlong in Banbury and ordered to pay £20 costs.

Frank Clarke, 52, of George Street, Banbury, pleaded guilty to possessing heroin. He was fined £65, ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

David French, 28, of Park Road, Banbury, pleaded guilty to damaging a car window worth £139. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to to pay £75 compensation, £15 victim surcharge and costs of £85. The metal bar used to damage the window was ordered to be confiscated

Max Mctaggart, 29 of Edmunds Road, Banbury, pleaded guilty to stealing electrical appliances worth £284 from Boots in Castle Quay, Banbury, stealing medication worth £7 from Poundland, stealing Stella Artois lager from the Co-op, stealing animal worming tablets worth £20 from Pets at Home, and stealing eight cans of lager from Tesco Express. He was given a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and a supervision requirement and was ordered to pay £60 victim surcharge and £50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to committing a further offence whilst subject to a conditional discharge imposed for the original offence of stealing fragrance worth £400 from Boots. No separate penalty was imposed for this.

Leon Caton, 21, of Harlequin Way, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the community requirement of a suspended sentence order . A suspended prison sentence of 14 weeks was invoked for this offence.

Lucasz Kolodziej, 28, of Hastings Road, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to complete an unpaid work requirement. Twenty hours of unpaid work were added to a community order previously imposed.

James Smith, 23, of Howard Road, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the requirementsof a community order by failing to complete an unpaid work requirement. A community order imposed for a previous offence was altered to include five additional hours of unpaid work.

Daniel Hewitt, 33, of Ribston Close, Banbury, was found guilty of using a colour television without a licence. He was fined £90, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £45 costs.

Philip Jones, 49, of The Camellias, Banbury, was found guilty of using a colour television without a licence. He was fined £200, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £90 costs.

Kriss Rigby, 48, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, was found guilty of using a television without a licence. he was fined £350, ordered to pay £90 costs and £35 victim surcharge.

Mohamed Taseem, 42, of Windrush, Banabury, admitted possessing the Class B drug cannabis. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £45 costs.
