Cars damaged by offender

THE following cases were among those heard at Banbury Magistrates’ Court between November 5 and November 9:

n Timothy Harris, 28, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, pleaded guilty damaging a Peugeot car to the value of £250, damaging a Renault Clio car to the value of £311.08, damaging a Vauxhall Corsa car to the value of £250 and damaging a Seat Ibiza car to the value of £717.71. For all offences he was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £400 compensation between three victims.

n James Butler, 20, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend a supervision appointment. The order was revoked and he was resentenced for the original offences of assault by beating and taking a Vauxhall Corsa without the owner’s consent and was given a community order with a ten-day education, training and employment activity requirement and ordered to complete 60 hours unpaid work.

n Carl Culliford, 20, of Henry Gepp Close, Adderbury, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend supervision and B2E appointments. He had the order revoked and was resentenced for the original offences of assaulting a constable in the execution of duty and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and was given a community order with a requirement to complete a ten-day education, training and employment activity requirement, a ten-day managing alcohol-related aggression programme and a supervision requirement.

n Tracey Herdman, 47, of Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work. The order was made to continue with the addition of five hours unpaid work.

n Andrew Batten, 28, of Harlech Close, Banbury, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend a supervision appointment. The order was made to continue with a one-month extension of the supervision order.

n Johnathan McCarthy, 28, of Bretch Hill, Banbury, pleaded guilty to possessing 3.81 grams of ketamine and possessing a quantity of cannabis and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £30 costs.

n Mark Durnin, 51, of Aston View, Somerton, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and was given a 24-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 costs.

n Courtney De-trell Harris, 38, of Moorfield Court, Banbury, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the direction of a PC to leave a locality and not return for 48 hours. He was fined £100, ordered to pay £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

n Christopher Paxton, 24, of Park End Court, Bodicote, pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of alcohol to the value of £24 from Co-op, stealing a bottle of alcohol to the value of £16 from Co-op, to stealing a bottle of alcohol to the value of £16 from Co-op and stealing a bottle of alcohol to the value of £15 from Co-op. For all offences he was given a 24-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £85 costs and a total of £66 compensation to the store.

n Lee Sutton, 40, of Padbury Drive, Banbury, pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to court custody and was fined £100 and ordered to be detained in the courthouse until the end of the day.

n Leigh Lester, 39, of Causeway, Banbury, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work. The order was revoked and he was resentenced for the original offences of destroying a window to the value of £600 belonging to Timpsons and to damaging a window to a value unknown belonging to Holloways and was given an 18-month conditional discharge.

n Robert Waterman, 32, of The Daedings, Deddington, pleaded guilty to using threatening, abusive or insulting words of behaviour and was fined £280, ordered to pay £80 compensation, £28 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

n Will Blencowe, 19, of Wykham Lane, Bodicote, admitted assault by beating and was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
