A BUSINESS at the cutting edge of style and fashion marked 25 years of success with a special celebration.
Steve Miller Hair Workshop in Deddington first opened in 1982, and staff decided to mark the anniversary with the release of 250 balloons.
Children from Deddington Primary School came along to help with the release and make the day extra special.
Owner Steve Miller said: "It was fabulous, we had lots of people from the village turn out to show their support.
"I think 25 years is quite an achievement and I feel very proud of it.
"It's a good testament to the way that the business has managed to hold its own and constantly evolve."
Mr Miller, who employs highly qualified staff, including David Goldsmith who was last year voted National Hairdresser of the Year, prides himself on the fact that his salon offers a first class, cutting edge service, but is based in an attractive rural village.
"We are a city salon in a country location," he said. "And we produce city standard work. We are all hairdressers that have worked or trained in London and we bring a city ethic back to the countryside.
"I've got a lot of staff who've been with me a long time but we constantly retrain, we make sure we're right at the front of what's happening.
"David is widely regarded in the industry as one of the best hairdressers in the UK.
"I'd like to think we've played a part in helping to raise the profile of Deddington and help give it a quality image. There are certainly some top quality businesses in the village."
One of Mr Miller's regular clients is such a fan that she drives to Deddington from London every six weeks just to have her hair done.
"I've been going to see Steve for at least 10 years," said artist Jill Revie. "And I don't intend to stop.
"It's always an excellent cut and he knows exactly what I want when I want to change my style, but if I want to keep it the same for ages he doesn't mind.
"All the staff are very friendly and the salon is smart and chic without being pretentious. I highly recommend it."
